These five easy available ingredients will protect the skin

Many people today are ready to use expensive cosmetics for beauty care. But the chemicals in them do more harm than good. Who doesn't want to have glowing skin at no extra cost?  You no longer have to go to beauty parlors to get beautiful and youthful skin.  The following are five kitchen ingredients that will help you get rid of dark skin and give your skin more color and radiance.


Honey can be used as an excellent cleanser if you are suffering from dry skin and acne problems. Honey can effectively heal acne and wounds, making the skin soft and smooth.

How to use : First, wash your face with lukewarm water. Apply honey on face and massage well. Then rinse with clean water and wipe off the water from the skin. Honey can be used two or three times a week.


Tomatoes are full of nutrients that promote healthy skin. Tomatoes, which are rich in vitamin C, fade dark spots on the face and soften rough skin.

How to use : Add one teaspoon of honey to three teaspoons of tomato juice, mix well and apply on face.  After 20 minutes, rinse with cold water. Doing this three times a week will help you to get rid of


Papaya is a great way to restore the skin's natural radiance. Papain, an enzyme found in papaya, has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It works effectively to hydrate the skin, retain hydration in the skin and improve tone.

How to use : Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice. Add two teaspoons of milk and one teaspoon of honey and mix well. Apply this mixture on your face and neck. After waiting for about 15 minutes, rinse with cold water. It can be applied once or twice a week.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is good for dry skin. Aloe vera contains vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and amino acids. Aloe vera has anti-bacterial properties and can help stave off acne.

How to use : Aloe vera gel can be mixed with a little rose water to remove wrinkles on the face. Apply this mixture on the face and neck, avoiding rubbing around the eyes. After 20 minutes, rinse with cold water. Do this once or twice a week for best results.


Cucumbers contain skin-friendly vitamins and nutrients that can help stave off skin problems. The antioxidants contained in cucumber brighten the skin.

How to use : Adding three teaspoons of cucumber juice and two teaspoons of lemon juice to the face is very beneficial for darkening and enhancing complexion. It can be applied twice a week.

Gold prices are on the rise in the state today. For the past one week, gold has been trading at Rs 36,800 (Rs 4,600 per gram), down by Rs 120 per sovereign on September 26. On September 27 and 28, gold prices remained unchanged at Rs 36,800 per sovereign and Rs 4,600 per gram.

On September 29, the sovereign increased by Rs 400 to Rs 37,200 and the gram to Rs 4,650. On September 30, the sovereign rose by Rs 120 to Rs 37,320 and Rs 4,665 per gram. On October 1, gold for sovereign fell by Rs 80 to Rs 37,280 per gram and Rs 4,660 per gram.

6 Brain Foods for Kids

These 6 foods can help kids stay sharp and affect how their brains develop well into the future. 

1. Eggs

How to Serve It: Fold scrambled eggs into a whole-grain tortilla for a filling breakfast or late-afternoon snack. "The protein-carb combo tides kids over until the next meal with no sugar-induced energy crash," You can also try serving egg salad sandwiches or a few deviled eggs.

2. Greek Yogurt

Fat is important to brain health, Greek yogurt (which has more protein that other yogurts) can help keep brain cells in good form for sending and receiving information.

How to Serve It: Pack Greek yogurt in a lunch with some fun mix-ins: cereal with at least 3 grams of fiber, and blueberries for a dose of nutrients called polyphenols. Dark chocolate chips are another option. They have polyphenols, too. These nutrients are thought to keep the mind sharp by hiking blood flow to the brain. 

3. Greens

Full of folate and vitamins, spinach and kale are linked to lower odds of getting dementia later in life. Kale is a super food, packed with antioxidants and other things that help new brain cells grow.

How to Serve It: For some kids, greens are a hard sell. So rather than serving a salad, you may want to try some different ideas:
Whip spinach or kale into smoothies for snack time.
Add spinach to omelets or lasagna.
Make kale chips. Cut kale from stems/ribs, drizzle with olive oil and a bit of salt, and bake. 

4. Fish

Fish is a good source of vitamin D and omega-3s, which protect the brain from declining mental skills and memory loss. Salmon, tuna, and sardines are all rich in omega-3s.

Kids often crave sweets, especially when they're feeling sluggish. Apples and plums are lunchbox-friendly and contain quercetin, an antioxidant that may fight decline in mental skills.

How to Serve It: The good stuff is often in the skin of fruit, so buy organic, wash well, and put the fruit in a bowl for quick snacks.
